Yamaha Water Separating Fuel Filter is designed to be the most efficient system available for removing water and solid contaminate, prior to the fuel entering the pumps and injection system. Dirty, unfiltered fuel can block internal fuel passages in the engine, causing the engine to run poorly or even fail.
Instead of the standard 35/27-micron filter, the Yamaha 10-micron filter will filter out, besides dirt and water, even small foreign particles and provide ultimate protection for the engine. The superior Yamaha 10-micron filters are highly recommended for all engines, especially HPDI models.
Yamaha recommends equipping outboards with a fuel filter to increase durability. It is very important that only clean fuel reaches the combustion chamber. Unnecessary wear is prevented and maximum fuel efficiency is ensured, especially on bigger engines and four-strokes.
Note: A filter is never \too big\. A larger filter will last longer than one which is \just large enough\.,
